Welcome to the Natural Health Forum of Conscious Singles. The purpose
of
this forum is to share information about natural health and to bring
together
like-minded individuals, who want to learn and support each other in
this
journey toward perfect health.
The underlying premise of the forum is that attaining good health is a
process of bringing the body back into its natural state of health,
its dharma. And above all, this is a process, this is a practice. Attaining
good health is not about taking the right pills or supplements, it's
about
treating the body and the mind with care, it's about adopting healthy
practices that will support the natural evolution of the body. It also
involves cleaning up the results of past actions—and this means
cleansing the organs, removing toxic metals and waste, remineralizing,
balancing the energies of the body, removing excess acid, etc.
Many of us know the basics of what steps to take, what foods to avoid,
and
what practices to adopt. But due to lack of intention, laziness, false
contentment, or psychological blocks, we are often unable to put of
these principles into practice. And that is why we need support from
like-minded people, people who have the intention to improve the
quality of their health.
Participation in this forum is a first step in getting the kind of
support we need to help ourselves become healthy, and stay healthy,
and share that state of well-being with others.
Although the emphasis in this forum will be about general health
principles—and how we can put those principles into practice—we will
also be covering specific subjects and specific practices. Simple
lifestyle changes can bring about dramatic improvements in one's
health. For instance, by simply drinking two cups of warm water upon
arising in the morning (and another 6 cups throughout the day) every
problem resulting from chronic
dehydration—which might include cramping, constipation, and
fatigue—can be eliminated. Eighty-five percent of degenerative
diseases in the US can be
linked to improper digestion. By simply taking the time to chew each
mouthful of food (the mouth being the primary site of carbohydrate
digestion) digestion will improve and many digestive-related aliments
will clear up. By simple adding sufficient amounts of Essential Fatty
Acids (EFA) to one's diet—which is found in flax, hemp, and pumpkin
seeds—many ailments stemming from lack of EFA will miraculously
disappear.
So, the bad news is that there is no miracle cure, no special herb you
can
take that will bring you back to a state of perfect health. The good
news is
that the body is always on your side (it is always trying to get back
to a state of perfect health) and, as such, a small effort on your
part can bring about great results. A passage from Dr. Atkins' Health
Revolution (p.345), echos this sentiment. He writes:
"Suppose there were a doctor so inept that he never got a single
diagnosis correct, but he agreed to give every patient adequate
amounts of antioxidants and of the alternative prostaglandin
precursors, GLA and omega-3 oils, and to keep his patients off sugar.
Well, this dummy would get
clinical results that would run rings around those achieved by the
best
doctor in the state . . . "
In addition to taking these three steps (and drinking enough water,
and
chewing your food very well) you health would continue to improve by
keeping
your acid-alkaline levels in balance, exercising, relieving of stress
and
depression, getting natural sunlight, cleansing the liver and other
organs,
and removing toxins and toxic sources—including heavy metals, candida,
and
residual infections.
In the coming months, through the vehicle of this forum, I will take
you through some of the basic practices of good health. I will cover
both general principles and specific practices. I am giving to you the
most
up-to-date information I can find. But, as always, this is a process.
New things, new ideas, and new research is always surfacing. And that
is one of the virtues of this forum: if there is something more that
can be said, or some place for improvement, I hope someone in this
forum will share his or her knowledge. And, collectively, we can all
help each other—not only with the best knowledge and information, but
with the tangible and intangible support of each other.
Yours,
