Founder's Statement
Thank you for your interest in Conscious Singles.
If you are reading this at this moment you have likely experienced
the frustration of searching to meet other kindred spirits as
playmates or life mates.
It is sometimes difficult enough to be single and to be positively
proactive in the search. It is even more difficult when trying to find
others who are conscious as well. There have been numerous reactions
to the word "conscious," but there are many who resonate positively
with this word on many levels. It is this group that this website is
for.
Conscious Singles network is designed to gather together those of
us who are committed to being and becoming more aware and conscious
while on the path, and open a space for community and interaction. In
fact, this network grew out of my perception of the need to connect us
kindred single spirits on a geographical basis. In my own search for
such a singles organization, there were just a few nationally focused
ones and none regionally based.
Our conscious network continues to grow. It has evolved from
initially being a regional correspondence dating service for conscious
professionals to a national support network for those on the path of
being and becoming more conscious.
Now it has grown to become an online community where folks from all
over the country can now be involved. With this upgrade of the system,
we can take advantage of what the Internet now allows.
So now you can see who's here on a more immediate and complete
basis-and contact each other much more quickly. You can also interact
with each other on the topic/theme centered bulletin boards. And you will now
have the opportunity to interact with experts in the fields on various
topics related to assisting you in being a conscious single.
What does it mean to be a conscious human being? My brother
maintains that being conscious is a journey, and that that the journey
involves four capacities: awareness, sensitivity, knowledge, and
connectedness. That it is something to be nurtured and cherished.
I see this journey as one of "the" purposes of our existence and it
can be traveled on many avenues such as spiritual, interpersonal,
intrapersonal, health, social, and environmental.
This journey has been instrumental in my own process as a clinical
psychologist, both professionally and personally. I am committed to
assisting, in whatever way I can, the development of consciousness in
this culture. This development, I think will be crucial for the
planet's future.
What I'd like to do is begin an exchange for the purpose of naming
and clarifying what you think this journey of being and becoming
conscious is all about. So let us hear from you.
