Near the end of 2021 I sold my guest lodge, fine dining restaurant, and cozy lake cabin in northern Wisconsin USA and embarked on a new life adventure in Portugal!

My plans began taking shape shortly after the initial Covid outbreak in early 2020. With my business essentially shut down I had plenty of time to contemplate how and where I wanted to enjoy my next life chapter. While it's likely I would have decided to move overseas in any event, the deciding factor was I could no longer stomach the dysfunction and divisiveness that currently prevails in America, particularly among MAGA Republicans and their cult-like followers.

Simply put, it was time for me to leave a country I no longer recognize. I look forward to creating a new life for myself in Europe. And I'm here to discover whether there may be someone similarly interested in a life of peace, harmony, travel adventures, and perhaps even love.

Ideally I hope to find a special partner who would be interested in building a holistic lifestyle and relationship together close to nature. She'll be smart, trim, beautiful to me in an outdoorsy sort of way, a lover of nature, adventurous, and a person of strong personal convictions toward the progressive and environmentalist end of the political spectrum (but open-minded and able to appreciate and occasionally agree with other points of view).

I'm interested in an easy-going relationship based upon mutual values, interests, respect, and FUN that flows naturally without a lot of drama or tension.

Nature/outdoors, hiking, canoeing, biking, golf, live outdoor music, exploratory travel, history, culture, quiet time at home, Netflix movie nights, very selective TV on DVR, good food & drink, ethnic, seafood, sushi, home cooking, BBQ, microbrews, red wine, music, Celtic, folk, bluegrass, reggae, 70s Rock, a nap in the sun on a warm Autumn day.

I love soft adventure travel, various outdoor activities (biking, kayaking/rafting, hiking, etc) interspersed with learning more about the history, culture, and gastronomy of an area. I often travel solo, but sometimes with a small group company like Intrepid. I also enjoy road trips. In general I'm up for traveling most anywhere...although I have to admit I've reached a stage in life where I prefer a private room with comfortable bed and indoor plumbing. Care to join me?
